Celosia Seeds, Pampas Plume Variety, 125 seeds per package, Red and Yellow Mix, Easy to Grow Annual, Pollinator Summer Garden Plant
$5.00
This listing is for one package of organically grown Plumed Celosia Seeds. This is a mixed seed package which will contain predominantly magenta celosia, with some yellow celosia, and if you are lucky some peachy sunset tones. Latin name Celosia argentea var. plumosa
Approximately 125 seeds per package
Celosia is a wonderful, easy to grow annual that thrives in heat and full sun. Pollinators flock to it, particularly wild beneficial wasps like Blue-Winged wasps. It is a must have for the pollinator garden. The flowers are dry well when harvested early on, and make a wonderful fresh cut flower, but typically I just leave them for all the insects.
Sow directly in the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Cover lightly with soil. The seeds will germinate in 3 to 7 days. Celosia grows quickly and is not a demanding plant. I will seed a round as late as early July in my zone 7 garden, and they will bloom for a late summer through frost (early November). I do not pinch my Celosia, however it can be done for bushy plumes. Celosia are in the amaranth faminly.
These seeds come from a strain that I have been harvesting from my Appalachian Gardens for over ten years!
